Remember all the bellringers you did in your classes? Now it’s time for the real thing! All juniors will be doing a required state test next Wednesday. Over the school year, teachers have helped prepare students with assignments in connection to the SAT. Skills like the “cross-elimination” will be useful on the math portion of the test. In addition, looking first at the question being asked before reading a passage is something that will be a great help for the English part of the test.
Websites like McGraw Hill, Test Prep, and Khan Academy have played a big role for English prep. Don’t stress out, because everyone in the state is doing exactly what you’re doing.
This is the last week that wraps SAT prep. Juniors are working on their setting sheets to make goals and better improve scores from when they were sophomores. On Wednesday, April 9, juniors will do their SAT test, with the skills they know, and with the assignment’s teachers have given them over the course of the year. Testing tips can also help students make the testing process less stressful, making sure that time is being used wisely, reading questions thoroughly, and most importantly using cross elimination.
Drink plenty of water, make sure you get a good night’s rest, and wake up refreshed. Remember you’re not the first and not the last to do this state test. Stay focused and think about all the hard work and preparation you’ve done to get to this moment and do your best. Good luck juniors! We know you got this.
