So, you might be thinking what is Z club? It’s a service club for young people sponsored by Zonta international focused on leadership, service, and international understanding. Z club explores many different topics like womans rights, gender equality, education, and community service. We volunteer at local food shelters, schools, and community events. We also support Zonta international’s global projects. One of our field trips that we attended was the Detroit Institute of Arts (also known as the DIA). The Z club went there because we believe that it’s very important to be culturally aware and see how young minds think and create. “It was a very inciteful field trip, I had lots of fun going to the DIA and it was amazing to decided see all the different types of art that was there,” Alissa Grimes said. Z club has also hosted their own canned food drive, getting over 100 cans for local shelters. They continued to do the drive over the next few months. “I was fortunate to be able to take part of the canned food drive, and it made me happy that I could help,” Shaylinn Buhl said.
