The Rainbow Coalition has been brought back to life for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! Teacher Jodi Teutsch is and has previously been the sponsor for this club; she is proud to announce the uprising and renewal of Rainbow Coalition, as it was unfortunately shut down due to covid in years prior. This club is a collection of people not only involved with, but also those supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, and others surrounding it. This group’s goals are to make our school and district feel more welcoming to everyone to help students and peers become more comfortable to be their unfiltered, best selves, whether that be through gender, sexuality, or anything in between. They are working towards helping acceptance and pride become more common and seen inside the walls of RHS. So far, these students have let their creativity flow, making posters to celebrate their peers and their differences during this pride month. Plans for the next school year are already in motion; they would love to add new members to their already growing team. Come join them in creating the start to the movement to make equality and inclusivity more common and normal. “I love being secretary of Rainbow society, I am able to hear everyone’s ideas and try my best with the help of all our members to make them happen. This club means so much to me because we as a community have been through so much, growth, so many hardships, etc. Seeing how our voices can be heard and having the ability to start this club again with this group of people has really made an impact on all of us and has helped us realize just how powerful our voices are alone and how much everyone’s opinions matter in every situation,” Sophomore Emerray Valerio-Mercado said.
