I like to think of life as a book, with each milestone being a new, fun, and exciting chapter. Each milestone is accompanied by challenges you must face, just as the main character in a book is faced with challenges. Everyone has that big milestone, their “greatest achievement” if you will. For me, completing high school and going to college is my “greatest achievement,” not because it was hard, but because it is important. The reason it’s important to me because I didn’t quit, even if I felt like I should have. I didn’t quit because I wanted to prove that I could, even if the person I wanted to prove myself to isn’t here to appreciate it.
Now as I wrap up my senior year, I get to end this chapter and start a new one. I get to start a new chapter with new friends and old friends while still remembering each and every milestone that got me here. With all that said, I would like to thank the teachers who have made high school not only bearable, but memorable. Thank you for helping me become who I am today; senior copy editor Olivia Johansen signing out.
