Disney released a new live–action Lilo & Stitch movie on May 23rd and here is my opinion on it. First, I want to say that it was a cute movie. I think Stitch was adorable! However, the storyline was different from the original in certain ways, such as how Lilo was going to be taken away from Nani by the state. Additionally, the original had such a nostalgic feeling to it that is not present in the live film. They definitely changed it up a bit, plus the villain in the live–action one is not Captain Gantu, it’s now Dr. Jumba Jookiba which, to be honest, I didn’t understand. I would say that you have to be a Lilo & Stitch lover/ fan to fully appreciate the movie. Overall, I think it was a good movie. I also believe the cast did an amazing job with their roles, especially Lilo, who was one of my favorite characters. She was portraying a true kid. My favorite part of the movie was the happy ending because it invoked raw emotions and everything fell into place. I would recommend watching it if you are in the mood for a fun, emotional movie.
