Over the course of seven weeks, the Roseville Football team took a leadership class with the SMSB OST program led by coach Jesse Cole. The program taught the team how to be leaders and how to find what kind of leader they are. Every day the team was given a word that they used daily, and they broke it down to find the true meaning of it, while finding ways to incorporate it into their everyday life on and off the field. They experienced activities that put them in a leader’s shoes by having to lead a team of people with a lot of distractions and obstacles in the way of their goal. “I feel like this program will help the team out this year because we have a lot of young talent but not any leaders to keep everyone intact and focused,” Head football coach Vernard Snowden said. After the seven-week program, the team felt like they were better leaders and better people. They also grew stronger as a brotherhood for the upcoming season.
