The 24-25 school year has brought some new restorative staff! We now have the wonderful Adrienne Miller and the talented DeShawn Gilbert. In high school, Gilbert played football, basketball, and he ran track. He went to Siena Heights University for his Bachelors, then he moved on to Malone University for his Masters. Before he worked at RHS he was a college football coach. He enjoys golfing, playing basketball, watching football, playing pool, eating, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends. “My favorite thing about working with students is to see them develop into greater people than what they already are and strive to be successful,” Gilbert said. This is his second year doing restorative. He lives by the quote “To get something you never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.” Miller went to Eastern Michigan University, to study for a Bachelor of Science in Communications. “My mother was my biggest inspiration for the reason I wanted to work with students,” Miller said. In high school she was a varsity cheerleader. Outside of school she is busy taking her daughter to her cheer and choir events, but she also enjoys reading. “My favorite thing about working with students is listening to their perspectives on things… It has helped me to become better at my job,” Miller said. Before working at RHS she worked at Roseville Middle School. She lives by the quote “I am not competing with anyone other than myself. I want to be excellent in whatever I do.” This year is her ninth year working as a restorative facilitator. Make sure to give her and Gilbert a warm welcome and say hi if you see them!
