The cross country team had their final meet on Friday, Oct. 26. The team ran their way through regionals at Metro Beach and placed 18th overall. On October 26 at 7:00 p.m, the RHS football team had played their last game of the season.With a lot of effort from both teams, the panthers fell short with the final score being 41-32. The varsity football team took another win Friday, Oct. 19, 76-32, against Eastpointe. They broke the school record on most points scored in a game and also made the playoffs for the second year in a row. In this last home game of the season, everyone on the team gave their jersey to a teacher who had an impact in their years throughout high school. Tuesday, Oct. 23, the girls swim team held their last meet of the season. Up against Cousino, the girls put forward their best effort and won 90-84. The night started off with the 200 medley relay. The A team, consisting of senior Caitlin Michael swimming backstroke, junior Kara Lightfoot swimming butterfly, junior Kayla Kornelson swimming breaststroke, and junior Mackenzie Smith swimming freestyle, won first place in the race. On Thursday Oct. 18 the cross country team went to one of their final meets of the season, the division championships. The weather held out for them as the team ran one of their best meets this year at Metro Beach. On Wednesday Oct. 19, RHS’ girls junior team came out to compete against the senior team in a game of powderpuff. The ball went to the juniors first to start the 45 minute flag football game on RHS’s field. In the first half, the ball got turned over to the seniors, who then had Lauren Orler pushing through her competition to score the first touchdown. Tuesday, Oct 16, girls varsity swim won 110-45 against South Lake. The meet started off with the 200 medley relay where the A team came in second place. Junior Mackenzie Smith and one of the South Lake girls were neck in neck until the last second of the race, but she still swam her best. The varsity football team went up against the Port Huron Northern Huskies on Friday, Oct. 12, for their regularly scheduled game which was also for the Macomb Area Conference (MAC) Blue championship. The Panthers received their first division loss of the season to the Huskies with the final score being 14-26. Their overall record is now five wins and three losses. On Monday, Sept 24, the varsity boys soccer team played a home game against the Fitzgerald Spartans. After a rainy, wild game, the boys came out on top with a score of 5-1. Senior Nick Craig scored the first goal within 15 minutes of the game. Thursday, Sept 20, the girls swim team went up against Warren Woods Tower (WWT) for their second meet of the season. The final score was 87-82. An astounding game had taken place Sunday, Sep. 23 on Ford Field. The Detroit Lions had taken on the New England Patriots in the 47th game of the 2018-2019 NFL season. Varsity soccer team play a vigorous game

On Wednesday, Sept. 19, the varsity boys soccer team played a home game facing Warren Woods Tower. Despite the vigorous effort they put in, the Panthers were not able to bring it home. The game ended in defeat, with a score of 4-1 and a win for  Warren Woods Tower. Including this game, the boys have won three games, lost four, and tied for two.
