On Wednesday, Oct. 19, the varsity volleyball team had their last home game and senior night. In their game against Cousino, the girls put in their best effort but fell short.

Emotions were heightened as the seniors’ names were announced as they walked down the court with their families. Coach Nicole Golden shared a short speech for each of the seniors, which included Grace Patterson, Kandace Stackpoole, Che’ Kayla Blea, Alexis Spagnola, Sydney Masterson, and Genisus Reed.

“I’m going to miss playing with the girls I grew up with,” senior Alexis Spagnola said.

As the varsity team did not take home the victory, they still left with their heads held high and prepared for their future to come.

After high school, Grace Patterson is set on attending and playing for the Madonna University Crusaders “They have a good volleyball program, and it allows you to grow as a player. Instead of just starting off as the best they help you grow into your best,” Patterson said.

It is bittersweet knowing this is their last match at home.
