During the pep rally on Friday, Sept. 26, homecoming court was announced. Introducing freshmen Baron Gavin Johnson and Baroness Mekhia Williams, sophomore Duke Julian Shah and Dutchess Leia Gavin, junior Prince Lee Elliott and Princess Taryn Dixon. For senior homecoming king and queen nominations Lisa Defour and Keontae Booker, Chantelle Ball and Da’myron Brown, A’aliyah Daniels and Myles Merriweather, and Quintaysia Pope and Myles Sharp are competing for royalty.
“I was really happy and excited and was thankful for all the senior that voted for me,” Booker said. “I was surprised, but I was excited but I felt like I earned it,” Defour said. As I was at the pep rally, I was feeling butterflies in my stomach. When they called my name, my heart sank to the floor. I was excited and very happy that I got picked to be on court.
