Love is in bloom! On Wednesday Feb. 14 it was Valentines Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the beautiful bond between couples all around the world. This day is a special occasion marked by various heartfelt gestures, such as romantic dinners, candy grams, and handwritten love notes for most. “What makes me want to celebrate Valentine’s Day is that I’ve spent the large majority of my life with somebody that I absolutely love, and I want to show her, not only this day but every day that I love her, appreciate her, and that I’ll never leave her,” teacher, Joshua Kovach said.
But Valentines Day is not just about romantic relationships, it is a time to spread love and kindness to through your community. Whether it be your friends, family, or even strangers we meet along the way. Love can be shown in many forms, whether it is a warm hug, a kind word, or just a simple card and a box of chocolates. Even a simple act of generosity will do. “My favorite way to spend Valentine’s Day is by spending time with my mom and sister and giving them gifts and receiving gifts from my mom and little sister. I also love it when my mom cooks,” senior, Dai’ana Woods said.
So let us not only celebrate the love we share for our partners, but also the love that exists in every corner of the world. May Valentine’s Day be filled with love, joy, and kindness that will touch all hearts around the world.
