Every month the Link Crew members come together and have a party for the freshmen. This year it was held on Oct 30. While some of the students were grilling hot dogs, the others enjoyed an assortment of goodies like chips, juice, and candy! Link Crew also set up fun activities like playing Mario cart or taking a shot at the mummy competition! 

The party’s Link Crew host are supposed to help the freshmen become comfortable with the school and the upper classmen. “It’s so important to have fun in school and to make friends,” Ms. Houghton said. She also states that having these meetings or parties give freshmen opportunities to learn if they want to join a club or sport since there’s so many other freshmen and upper classmen they could talk to and ask questions. 

“My favorite part of this event is planning it and getting everyone excited and having all the freshmen come out and have fun, because sometimes all you need is some fun after school,” senior Avion Johnson said. Kayzar Bridgeforth states she enjoys helping the younger kids because it could be scary and nerve racking coming into high school. “I like hanging out with all of my friends and having food, snacks, playing all the games and just having a good time,” freshmen Kilee Letts said.
