Senior Valerio Vergni is a new foreign exchange student from Italy. He arrived in America at the beginning of this school year looking for new experiences. Italy and American high schools are majorly different. These countries have different food, culture, and traditions. Everyone’s experiences are unique. Vergni shares his experience about how he was interested in being a foreign exchange student. “I’ve always wanted to experience going to school in an American high school and having my family put me in this program made me more open to new opportunities,” Vergni said.
The foreign exchange program at Roseville High School offers a home for new exchange students and allows these new students to participate in any kinds of sports and clubs that they offer. Foreign exchange programs are designed to provide students with the opportunity to study in a different country and experience a new culture. Developing independence, adaptability, and a broader worldview all in a different educational system and lifestyle.
Vergni will be attending RHS until January and hopefully holds this experience with him further on.
