During the annual Homecoming pep rally, this year’s homecoming court was announced. There are the usual eight couples, and this should be a super exciting week. On this year’s court there’s Aniya Boler and Huston Eubank, De’Zire Hendrix and Timothy Palmer, A’nija Martin and Micheal Chastine, R’Reale Martin and Ronald Reeves, April Nevels and Dennis Henderson, Lyndsy Rodriguez and Spencer Reini, Presley Rubio and Gabe Johnson, Dai’ana Woods and Robert Bush. While sixteen of them fought for the title of homecoming king and queen only two of them will come out on top.
“Getting to experience being on homecoming court was one of the best experiences I could have as a girl in high school, it’s almost every girl’s dream,” Lyndsy Rodriguez, Senior, said. Rodriguez was one of the five cheerleaders who were on homecoming court this year and enjoyed getting to run against her teammates and enjoy the bonding experience with them.
The crowning took place during halftime against Anchor Bay, the winners of this year’s homecoming court were Dennis Henderson and Presley Rubio!
“The Experience was very fun and exciting, and I was very surprised and grateful. I’m thankful for everyone that voted for me and supported me throughout this week,” Henderson said. Henderson has been very known in the school since his freshman year, being Petey the Panther and being a photographer.
“Winning felt good I was very surprised, and I definitely do it again,” Rubio said. Rubio has also been known in the school since her freshman year for being a varsity basketball player and cheerleader. She was also well known because her cousin won a few years prior, so will the Rubio’s be able to keep up their legacy or will they fall to another court member?
