Last night, Feb. 21, marked one of the final high school basketball games for four girls.  With the season coming to an end, the girls are also letting go of four seniors who will be considerably missed.  The team played with heart yesterday, defeating Lincoln High School 57-23.

Just recently, the girls were announced as MAC Silver champs.  Following, they also received first place in the MAC tournament on Feb. 19.  For the seniors, these accomplishments were a significant way to wrap up the season.  Last night, was another memorable victory for the

girls.  Altogether the seniors contributed a total of 34 points in the game, led by Chantae Parker with 17, and Nija Collier with 10.  Senior, Ta’Laja Edwards grabbed many rebounds while senior, Rayven Newberry held strong on defense and put up six points.

“Senior year was very fun and monumental for me, I played every game to the best of my ability,” Edwards said.

This year’s graduating seniors will be missed for everything they have given to a team they have learned to call family.

“If you have a dream chase it, anything is possible if you put your mind to it,” Collier said to her underclassmen teammates.
