Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see a Disney princess turn into a complete psychotic mess? Well, look no further. Naomi Scott is an English singer and actress. She was in numerous movies and a few TV shows, but her role as princess Jasmine in Aladdin (2019) was truly a showstopper. She portrayed her powerfully and made her kind of a girl boss. Even in other movies like Lemonade Mouth (2011) or Charlie’s Angels (2019) she never played a meek character. In Smile 2, you can truly see the confidence and the powerful aura that her character exudes. I truly am enamored with her character choice, and the way she truly enraptures you into her character and makes you feel like her character is a real person who you’ve known forever.
Smile 2 is a clustered-up movie that is both psychologically chilling and notably gory. I was frightened by it, because the subtle gore simply sent chills down my spine and an uneasy feeling in my stomach. It was very well curated, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a more gripping sequel. Smile 2 was very exhilarating and intense throughout the entire movie; there was absolutely not a dull moment.
This movie shows themes that can be taken lots of different ways. In my opinion, it shows how celebrities can be behind closed doors. It gives you a peek at how easy it is to lie about the real things that happen, or how people judge you so easily, even if you’re telling them the truth. The movie made even me feel manic, and like I was spiraling too.
All in all, it’s definitely a must watch. But if you do, please watch the first one before the second one! It’s really a great franchise and I hope that they can continue into making a third movie, or even another franchise similar to this one.
