With the madness of the 2016 presidential election finally over, comes our own madness here at RHS.  Last week, seniors were given the opportunity to fill out a petition to run for a mock school board position.  Positions range from jobs such as Director of Curriculum to Superintendent, and the seniors wishing for a position of their choosing have the choice to campaign to draw in votes.

With a busy week of campaigning, the students who get elected will be presented with the chance to present a “mock” school board meeting of their own at the administration building.  At this meeting, students will also be required to bring a teacher, coach, staff member, or mentor that they would like to thankfully acknowledge.

“Campaigning was really fun, I loved making the signs and seeing everyone else’s.  All of them are very creative,” Keaira Vest said.

Voting will be held this upcoming Monday, Nov. 14.  To seniors participating, good luck, and as for everyone else, get out and vote!
