Senior Kyle Minor works his way into pinning his oppenent

At the wrestling dual meet on Thursday, Jan. 14, Roseville panthers took on Lamphere and Henry Ford II. They went 1-1, winning against lamphere (41-23) and losing against Henry Ford II (31-37).

For Lamphere, senior Kyle Minor, wrestling at 171 pounds pinned his opponent in the first 23 seconds getting six points for his team and sophomore Sam Clark wrestling at 215 pounds pinned his opponent in the first minute getting the panthers six points. Senior, Julio Rosario, wresting at 152 pounds gained his team seven points. Overall, the came out with a win almost double Lamphere’s points.

For Henry Ford II, Minor again pinned his opponent in the second period acquiring six points for the panthers and sophomore Marcus Fresh wrestling at 215 pounds gained 11 points. Through the perseverance, the Panthers lost to HF2 by a close call of six points.

“We came out 1-1 and we could have done better if we had won our last two matches but you win so and lose some and I can see we are getting better as a team,” sophomore Anthony Vollbach said.
