This past Wednesday on March 4th the National Honor Society hosted their annual NHS induction where they honor a multitude of students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The event honored a group of students who have worked hard both inside and outside the classroom. Inductees were formally welcomed into the school’s NHS chapter during a ceremony that highlighted the organization’s four pillars. Members of the current chapter led portions of the program and spoke about the importance of academic excellence and community involvement.
Family members and teachers attended the event to support the students and celebrate their accomplishments. During the ceremony, students were presented with NHS certificates and participated in the traditional candle-lighting ceremony symbolizing scholarship, leadership, service, and character. With 23 inductees, we spoke to one of the many, Amaya Johnson, about how she felt about the experience.
“I feel accomplished and I’m proud of myself for maintaining a good GPA and a good record, and I am excited to see where this opportunity leads,” Johnson said.
The induction ceremony marked the beginning of the students’ journey as NHS members here they will continue to represent the values and spirit of Roseville High School both in school and throughout the community.
