This Tuesday, Dec. 2, the freshman boys basketball team opened their season with a game that had everyone in the gym on the edge of their seats. While the Panthers came up just short with a final score of 39–43, their effort on the court was anything but a loss.
“I think it was a very good game, we were really close, and we will definitely win the next one,” freshman Alex Sides said.
From the very first whistle, the team played with energy, speed, and a level of confidence that set the tone for the night. The Panthers moved the ball well, communicated loudly on defense, and kept the game tight from start to finish. Every quarter brought new momentum, and the crowd could feel the intensity building.
One of the highlights of the game was the team’s impressive comeback in the second half. Down by several points, the Panthers refused to back down. All of the steals, fast breaks, and sharp passes brought the score extremely close. With only a few minutes left on the clock, the gym buzzed with excitement as the team pushed to take the lead.
Although the final seconds didn’t swing in the Panthers favor, the players walked off the court with their heads high. Their determination, teamwork, and nonstop hustle showed exactly what Roseville spirit looks like.
“Even though we didn’t win, we worked together well and tried our best. Hopefully we will come back stronger and get the win next game,” freshman Mohamed Sarar said.
Parents, students, and teachers can look forward to a season filled with growth, hard work, and plenty of thrilling moments. If this first game was any indication, the Panthers are going to make this year one to remember.
