Winter sports are here, but it’s never too late to reflect on the volleyball season! From conditioning in July to their final district game on Monday, Nov. 3, the team gave it their all every step of the way. The players formed an incredible bond and will cherish the memories of this season forever. Their connection on the court was undeniable and truly inspiring. Through the ups and downs, these girls grew stronger with every game.
The seniors on the team were captain Iyana Lee-Faulkner, Jayla Rucker, Randa Hamdan, Lisa Defour and Vanessa Moreno. The five of them have been playing together since middle school. Lee-Faulkner plans on continuing her volleyball career in college.
The juniors on the team were Chelsea Haugabook, Asiyah Stewart-Ellis, Arianna Kittrell, Kori Kitrell, Emma Desnoyer, Kassidy Edwards and Brooklyn Johnson. They look forward to playing together again next year and winning a district title.
The varsity team was coached by Nicole Golden, with Roseville alumna Kandace Stackpoole as her assistant. Together, they provided strong leadership and created a positive environment that encouraged the players to do their best.
“Our coaches really pushed me to try harder and play the best I can,” Moreno said.
