On Oct. 23rd, Roseville High School’s varsity volleyball team celebrated senior night during their final home game. The day honored seniors Randa Hamdan, Iyana Lee-Faulkner, Jayla Rucker, Lisa Defour and Vanessa Moreno.
These girls have been playing together for five years and ended their final game together with a win. Their coach sent them to a little dinner before the game so the rest of the team could set up and help decorate the gym for their special game. Each senior received gift bags with things they love, and the rest of the team helped by making them blankets they can hold on to that remind them of the season they shared together.
“This day was really emotional for me because this season was one of the best I’ve had and the night couldn’t have gone better,” Moreno said.
For their final set of playing on their home court, all the seniors got to play in all-round positions alongside junior Arianna Kittrell. They played their hardest for the last set with no time outs and played until the very end. This specific team will always be in their hearts because this is the team that pushed and worked hard to win every game they played. Even with the season ending, the record stayed close at 6-8 and the girls couldn’t be happier to have experienced such a memorable season with amazing opportunities and coaches.
“I absolutely love playing with these girls, they have made every volleyball season worth coming back for, and I can’t wait to see where life takes us after this,” Rucker said.
