Choir and band perform annual Christmas concert

   Last Thursday, Nov. 30, choir and band put on their annual Christmas concert taking place at RMS. They performed old to new songs, solos to duets, and the one and only show choir performances.

    Symphonic, Treble, and alumni kicked off the concert with “Carol of the bells”,  Jazz band then performed “The Christmas Song” and “We Three Kings.” Next up was Treble choir singing, “Winter Wonderland.” Chamber Ensemble performed “Three Traditional Christmas Carols.”  Marching band performed “Let It Snow” and “Right Down Santa Claus Lane.” Symphonic choir sung “White Winter Hymnal”and “Believe from The Polar Express.” Symphonic Band played “Scherzo For Santa.”

    Chason the women symphonic choir group and Cantando the men symphonic choir group had their own performances, Cantando sang “Little Saint Nick,” along with Chanson singing “Coventry Lullaby.”

     Symphonic Women and Dazzle show choir danced and sang to “Santa Baby.” Senior, Samantha Averitt and junior, Kaelyn Kowalski sang a duet “The Twelve Days after Christmas.”

Band teacher, Daniel Chesher played the saxophone, while choir teacher, Kristina Collins played the Piano and did a lovely duet to the song “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

    The annual christmas concert ended with a “Christmas sing-a-long,” having Symphonic Band, combined choirs and the audience gathering together to sing and spread Christmas spirit.

“We could’ve done better but this was the first performance and everyone makes mistakes, there were a few of them but as a team we achieved an overall goal,” junior Kaelyn Kowalski said.

“We did well I thought I was gonna be more nervous than I was but when we got on stage it wasn’t that nerve wrecking.”
