Trading hairspray for helmets

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, the junior and senior girls played each other in the annual powder puff game. Both teams played tough, but the seniors took the win, with a final score of 35-28. The juniors were down 22-28 with ten seconds left to go in the game and Rachel Sieracki took it 70 yards for a touchdown to tie it up. The two point conversion was missed. In overtime, the senior defense came up big with a huge stop on the goal line. Then Eleni Haralampopoulos scored the game winning touchdown.

“It was a blast, I had a lot of fun.” Rachel Sieraki said.

Leading the way on offense for the juniors was Rachel Sieracki with two touchdowns, Kelsey Ramsey, with one touchdown, and the Elandra Sledge had one touchdown also. Notable players on the seniors’ side were Eleni Haralampopoulos with three touchdowns and Kye Dozier with two touchdowns. Girls on both sides put in valiant efforts in the game, keeping the powder puff tradition alive.
