RHS students often do extra curricular activities and sports outside of school and they aren’t always noticed. Senior Andalee White is one of those students. White has been dancing since she was three years old. White has been a member of the Ann Parsley School of Dance since she was 11 years old. She has also been a part of the Macomb Ballet Company for seven years.

“My favorite part about growing up dancing is the friendships I’ve made. I spend almost 6 hours everyday with them and we are closer than ever. I also love to have intensive training everyday. Most people would say that’s crazy, but I love learning. It has been a blessing to be able to practice my craft from a young age, and I’m super excited to be able to continue in New York.

On Friday, April 28th Andalee starred in the Macomb Ballet Company’s premier of The Little Mermaid. The company performed four showings of The Little Mermaid at the Macomb Center of Performing Arts. White played the roles of Oceana (the little mermaid) and an eel.

After each show, a meet and greet is held with each of the characters that performed.

“I liked playing Oceana the most because it was really fun acting and interacting with the little kids on stage,” White said.

Next year, Andalee will be attending The Joffrey Ballet School in New York,on scholarship,  where she will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.
