Junior Samuel Alcaide is the foreign exchange student for the 2022-2023 school year. He comes here from Gijon, Spain, a large coastal city in northern Spain. Alcaide is also on the soccer team as a midfield. “The people and the community are really nice,” Alcaide said. The biggest change for him is the schedule. The hours for meals have changed, and the times they wake up and sleep are different as well.  

Alcaide’s hope for the new year is to make friends and wanting stories to tell his friends back in Spain. “I thought it would be interesting, there wasn’t a strong reason exactly,” Alcaide said.
