June 1 is the start of pride month, and for students, it can be a very exciting time. With clubs such as Rainbow Society, the school makes a consistent effort to help students feel safe and comfortable at school. Even with the struggles that students may face at home and at school due to their identity, everyone still stands strong and proud.

“Pride month gives everyone the chance to be who they are shamelessly and gives members of the LGBT community the pedestal of love, recognition, and acceptance that they truly deserve,” junior Alexis Dean said.

Students are also going around wearing pride flags including the rainbow flag, bisexual flag, and transgender flag. These small but extraordinary signs are not only signs of acceptance and safety, but reminders that over the course of time, pride itself has come a long way, and from here, we should never give up.
