Mechatronics is an elective course that was introduced virtually online in the year of 2021. The classroom teaches material regarding robotics and coding and differentiation techniques. After recognition, Dort Elementary School contacted RHS wanting students to design custom desk attachments for their Hearing-Impaired students.

“Although, the process of designing these desks for the children was complicated, it felt good to gift the children with something that can help them constructively while in class sessions,” sophomore Nigel Powers said. The class is successfully continuing in person as of 2022. Dort Elementary School students were eager to begin using their custom and personalized desk. The advantage of having these specialized desks is that the students can keep their desk until their transferring year going into middle school. The desks were delivered to Dort Elementary School on May 2.
