Black History Month- The Life of Michael Jackson

How did Michael Jackson influence so many people before his passing? Many people have heard of Michael Jackson multiple times throughout the years. The one man who was the first black artist to have his video shown on MTV, the very first black global icon, and breaking major selling records of “Thriller”. He has also sold out many concerts and albums them being number one in the hot charts.  When people think of Michael, the first things that come up is the high-water pants, the hat, the sequin white glove, moonwalk socks and shoes. He has influenced many people in the world in everything from dance, music, fashion and much more. But the most of all, Michael has influenced music genres like pop, RnB, and soul.  He has inspired many future artists like Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, Ciara, and many others. Without his influence, none of these artists would be in the music industry right now, making the music that so many of us love to listen to. Another reason why he has influenced/changed my life is because it doesn’t make what skin color, gender or whatever you are. As Michael once said before “It doesn’t matter what other people say if you love yourself for who you are.” I am Emilie and this is the reason Michael will always inspire myself and others.
