A new Netflix series called “Ginny and Georgia” has been a hit ever since it came out Feb. 24. It is currently holding the number one spot in the U.S on Netflix.

This series follows a 16 -year-old girl, Ginny Miller, who is played by Antonia Gentry, as she settles down in a new town in Massachusetts with her mom, Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey) and her little brother, Austin Miller (Diesel La Torraca) after her stepdad passed away. Ginny found herself making friends quickly at her new high school after she called out her teacher in front of the whole entire class. She gets a boyfriend, finds another love interest, and travels the drama filled world of a teenager. Ginny’s mom, Georgia, tried to keep her kids away from her dark past and leads them in the direction of a life she never got to have. Georgia had Ginny when she was 15 years old, after she ran away from home. Her secrets become unraveled throughout the show. From money laundering, to having guns in her house, to maybe even killing her ex-husband. Georgia’s lies catches up with her and she has a lot of explaining to do.

“Ginny and Georgia” is a great representation of some of the things that teenagers go through. This includes self-harm, racism, depression, and anxiety.

“I thought it was more different than the average teen show. I really enjoyed it,” senior Gordon Luo said.
