Student Assembly needs applicants

Jewel Jurek-Stamm, Staff Reporter

Due to COVID, Student Assembly has not been able to begin operating as normal. Now, with the January 19, return to school on the horizon, they can begin.

Under normal circumstances, Student Assembly sponsors many events. These include Homecoming events like the Homecoming parade, halftime at the Homecoming game, and the Dance itself.

Student Assembly is not limited to Homecoming. They also sponsor events such as Blood Drives and Senior Week.

Though it may look quite different this year, Student Assembly will still be a great opportunity to connect with your peers.

There are several requirements to be in Student Assembly. You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and positive feedback from faculty and staff at Roseville High School.

The process begins with applications. The applications can be completed and submitted through a link that has been posted on the RHS Schoology page, the Hodak group on Schoology, or Seniors may find it on the 2021 Seniors page.

The applications are due January 22, at 3pm. After review of the applications, there will be an election.

“Student Assembly teaches a lot of life skills such as organizing, time management, and collaboration.  It also allows students an opportunity to organize the events that students remember” English teacher and Student Assembly sponsor Eric Mattison said.

Don’t forget to get those applications in! Good luck RHS!
