National Honor Society inductees miss induction
November 17, 2020
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the 2019-2020 school year ended early and the new NHS inductees were unable to have an Induction Ceremony. NHS is a program that allows students (with a GPA of 3.4 or higher) to volunteer and learn about helping the community while doing community service. Traditionally, applicants who are accepted are inducted in April.
Juniors:
Javirea Bellefant, Ke’aloha Duhaylonsod, Jacqueline Brun, Kori Scruggs, Daviona Diggins, Coral Nicholson, Mia Sodini, Danae Fordham, Brenden Brzezinski, Rania Alasad, Maria Reinke, Denea Youngblood, Mariah Williams, Serenity Debose, Amelia Borys, and Ivori Williams
Seniors:
Brooke Hedrick
Despite the cancellation of inductions, NHS members are going strong.
“I was disappointed that my class would not be able to do inductions this past year, but I do realize that this was done to keep students and parents safe” junior Amelia Borys said.
They may not have gotten a ceremony, but they are still members of NHS just like the original members.
Good luck and Congratulations to all new inductees!
