On Saturday Dec. 5, there was 11 varsity teams and five J.V. teams that competed at Brighton High School for the 14th Annual Spirit Showdown. The dance team performed two dances: jazz and pom. The teams that performed were high school teams and other teams from around Michigan.

The varsity high school teams were Brighton, Pinckney, Richards, Fowlerville, Lakeview, Cousino, and Holly. More dance teams were Father Gabriel, and Glenn’s Dance Stars. Livonia Pom Pon, Path Finder, Scranton Middle School, Brighton, and Pickney were all J.V. teams. The songs that they danced too was the remixed version of “Lose Control,” that the team specially made, and ¨Nails Hairs Hips Heels,¨ by Todrick.

At the end, they announced the awards. Pinckey won the competition, Roseville placed ninth out of the eleven teams.

“I’m super proud of my team and all that we accomplished, I can’t wait for the rest of the season. Big things are coming for us,” junior Kristi Patton said.
