On a rainy, cloudy day, all the accounting classes gathered to go on a field trip to Quicken Loans in downtown Detroit. Despite the unpleasant weather, students had a fun and informative day. Students had the opportunity to see people in the workplace and how their accounting class can apply in real life. In addition they witnessed the opening of an H&M store, the latest retail store to hit downtown.

“Quicken Loans was beautiful and artsy and it also had a lot of history. They have everything there and the coolest, most beautiful scenery,“ senior Sorcha Blankenship said.

The trip was informative for the accounting teacher, Suzana Doncic, as well.

“It’s good for students to go on field trips to have real life experiences related to their class. The advantage of this field trip is having students take a look at Quicken Loans from an insider’s perspective. It was impressive to see all the buildings and perks this company offers. I definitely will be taking my future classes on this field trip,” Doncic said.
