Girls varsity basketball defeats Lamphere while celebrating parent night

On Jan. 24, 2019, the Lady Panthers accomplished another win against Lamphere high school. The final score was 57-33, with a dominant panther lead throughout the game. The first quarter score was a total of 16 points overall. Some individual highlights included senior Debraya Edwards with 23 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, also senior Jo’el Stump with 13 points, five rebounds, and four steals overall. The first half score was a total of 25 points. Sophomore Olivia Vanderham scored five points, eight assists, and five steals in the game. The panthers scored 41 points overall in the third quarter.

The junior varsity and varsity girls celebrated parent’s night and individually gave their parents roses. Commemorating parents and everything that they do for student athletes like taking them to practice everyday and supporting them at their games is so important.

The Lady Panthers will be on the road for the will be on the road for their next game against Warren Mott high school on Jan. 29 at 7:00 P.M. The girls’ overall record s 10-3 with a current streak of 9 wins. Warren Mott has a current record of 7-5.

“Yesterday was a good team win. We are proving ourselves everyday, and I’m excited to see how the rest of the season goes,” Stump said.
