On Jan. 22, 2019, varsity Panther’s basketball defeated Eisenhower High school with a final score of 79-53. At the end of the first quarter, the panthers scored a total of 18 points. Senior John Okomadu scored 17 points and 13 rebounds overall. Senior Deshaun Wright scored 16 points and 11 rebounds. As the game progressed, the intensity heightened. As the first half ended the panther had put 37 points on the board. The defense in the game was strong and unified, resulting in many steals throughout the game. Junior Martell Turner scored 10 points and 11 assists. Junior Aaron Hunter scored seven points and also two steals. The third quarter score was 58 points. Seniors Darien Banks and Lazell Judge scored 16 points, four steals and five points with two blocks.

Varsity will have another game Jan. 25, against L’anse Creuse High school (LCN) at 7:00 p.m at home. The panthers recently competed against this team on Jan. 8, 2019 with a final score of 61-46. LCN has an overall current record of  0-12, with RHS’s record being 12-1.
