Basketball season has now started in Roseville and the team has yet to disappoint, starting the season off 3-0 and steadily creeping their way up to best in the state. The team ranked 10th on Thursday, Dec. 6 and by Sunday, Dec. 10 the panthers were ranked first by maxpreps.com. In their game against Eastpointe, the panthers won with the final score of 68-57. Senior Darien Banks showed his ability to play at the next level by constantly dropping more than 20 points a game, scoring 24 in the rivalry game. Senior John Okomadu closely followed Banks with a total of 19 points and 12 rebounds, which showed how he can be in the paint and get aggressive. The panther’s most impressive win was against basketball powerhouse New Haven, who is home to Romeo Weems, one of the best high school players in the state. Their next game is away at Edsel Ford, and the team plans to have a great season ahead.
