On Thursday Oct. 18 the cross country team went to one of their final meets of the season, the division championships. The weather held out for them as the team ran one of their best meets this year at Metro Beach.

In the boys varsity, almost all the boys broke their personal records.  Junior Ryan Charles ran his fastest time this year at 18 minutes 37 seconds and earning himself 19th place, getting a medal to prove it.

“I felt like everyone did great and it was our best race of the season,” Charles said.

Senior Dylan Johnson was so amazed that this was one of his last races in his high school career if he does not make it to states.

After the varsity boys, varsity girls were up to run their best times of the season. Freshman Haley Anderson came running in at a 25.46, breaking her personal record by about 15 minutes. All the girls ran the best they have this season even though some did not break their personal records.

Last but most certainly not least, the junior varsity ran their race. Freshman Jacob Farley ran an amazing race, running in at 21 minutes and 43 seconds, breaking his P.R and running in faster than his varsity brother. Junior Brenden Bishop came running in at 21 minutes and 57 seconds, just shy of his P.R by about 10 seconds. The boys who didn’t break their P.R have one more meet to do it. Their last meet is on Friday Oct. 26 at Metro Beach. The boys hope to run just as well then as they did this time.
