Thursday, April 19, RHS newspaper, yearbook, and news and broadcasting staff went to Comerica Park for journalism day. Amy Andrews of Fox 2 News hosted the event. Local students learned about several areas of journalism. Speakers provided their own personal testimony in education, experience, and career.

Areas of speciality that were covered were, print media, photography, social media, and radio television sports journalism.

Speakers that attended this event included, Max King, coordinator of athletic communication, Robin Buckson, photographer for the Detroit news, Bryan Lour-Almante, bilingual media relations coordinator for the Detroit Tigers, and Mike Tinico, host and play-by-play announcer for the NBC sports group.

After they all spoke the staff watched the Tigers warm up, got their snacks, and got ready to watch the game. The Tigers won 13 to six and all three of the groups went home with smiles.
