RHS hosts statewide robotics event
March 12, 2018
On Saturday, Mar. 10, schools from around MI and surrounding states came to RHS to compete in Square One’s annual underwater ROV event. Teams spent months building their ROVs to prepare for the competition. The robots are built to be driven and perform different tasks such as driving through hoops, transferring bottles from one bin to another, and collect balloons.
“Everything went much better than last year, I’m very proud of my team for working hard in the time crunch that we faced,” sophomore, and ROV team leader, Marissa Hedrick said.
The challenges were judged mainly by volunteers and members of the National Honor Society. Several teams took home awards such as Forest Hills High School, Reese High School, and Millington Junior High School. Our home team received an honorable mention for allowing Square One to use the facilities.
