On Jan. 30, RHS hosted their annual chili cook-off. Many staff members and community members came to participate in the event. A wide range of students, community members, and staff gathered to taste the chilis. Each member cooked a chili and served to guests and hosts to be judged.

“This is my first time coming here as a spectator, it is all just a really good time,” teacher Brian King said.

This event was organized for a fundraiser, supporting Students Against Destructive Decisions. SADD was raising money for Red Ribbon week and other activities they do to raise awareness.

“This was my first time coming here, and I’d have to say Gus’ is my favorite chili so far,” junior Samantha Griessel said.

Mr. Steve Dzieciolowski came in third place, officer Tom Gusweiler came in second place, and school board member Pete Hedemark gained the title of Chili Champion. This was one more year for a district-wide tradition, and hopefully there will be many more to come.
