Being thankful is a great thing

Thanksgiving is a holiday where you can celebrate with friends and family the things we are thankful for. The holiday is celebrated by having different dishes to serve for others we care about. Some people stick to what is traditional with the original  holiday feast, while others do their own traditions. Everyone celebrates this holiday almost the same way because it only takes someone or something you truly are thankful for to make it a Thanksgiving.

Benjamin Jacob is a freshman and he moved from India to Michigan this year.“I am so thankful for my family for being there for me throughout my life,”Jacob said. Benjamin said his family celebrates the holiday by eating beef, chicken, black forest cake, and beef rice and drinking all types of juices. He said he cannot wait for Thanksgiving this year!

Joshua Crawford is a sophomore and he said he likes it so far here. “ I am  thankful for being able to wake up every morning and to take a breath. I am also thankful for my family and  friends that had my back when I was down and that my life is going pretty good so far,”Crawford said. Crawford celebrates his holidays with traditional foods and desserts.

Reginae Salter is a junior and  she is  also on the  girl’s basketball team. “My basketball team is important to me, but not as important as my friends and family,” Salter said. She said her family has all kinds of different foods for Thanksgiving, but she is not sure what to anticipate this year.

Kiana Johnson is a senior and this is her last year. She has been here since freshman year and she enjoys it here. “There are a few things I am thankful for my family, my friends, and I can not forget my boyfriend, senior Gerald Carter. God has blessed me with a beautiful singing voice that I will one day share with the world ,” Johnson said.

These students are all similar to each other because they all celebrate a special holiday with someone they are truly thankful for. It does not matter what race, religion, or backgrounds we all come from, we are all the same in many ways. So go have a wonderful Thanksgiving with the special person you are  thankful for.
