On Feb. 10 the Roseville girls’ varsity basketball team competed in the MAC Tournament against Warren Lincoln. Senior Nija Collier led the team in points by scoring 16 points total. Also, junior Madelyn Lagassa, impressively showing off her skills, handled the ball well which contributed in the team’s efforts to win.  At halftime, the Panthers led the game 35-5. The defensive and offensive sides of the ball were both competitive late in the second half. With the help of key players for the team, they were able to maintain their led. The final score of the match up was 53-27.

The Panthers will advance in the tournament which is set to take place at home against Warren Woods Tower on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 7pm.

“With hard work and consistency, our team’s goals will always be a step closer,” sophomore Debraya Edwards said.

According to Edwards, the girls will need to work on defense, stay positive, and give 110 percent on the court in order to win the game.
