On Monday, Oct. 24, students remembered the life of freshman Ryan Mannes, by wearing blue attire.  On October 15, 14 year old Mannes was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident.  The family held a public funeral Friday Oct. 21, where many gathered to mourn his passing.  The students then put together an unofficial organized blue shirt day to honor Mannes’ life.

“Ryan was like a brother to me and just supporting him by wearing blue really means a lot to me, just to show that there’s respect for him and his family,” freshman Cole McCullum said.

Many students knew Mannes as more than just a fellow classmate, and he made many friends who are eager to show support in any way possible. He will remain in the loving memories of the RHS community.

“Wearing blue reminds me of the time when Ryan and I were looking up cars and his favorite car was a Ram truck and it was blue because it was his favorite,” freshman Summer Smith said.

The RHS Panther Den will be selling t-shirts for $10 to commemorate Mannes’ life.
