Kroger grand opening grants RHS an $5,000

On Jan. 17, a new Kroger is opening in replacement of the previous one on Little Mack and Harper. It is now re-located to Little Mack and 13 Mile roads with a substantially bigger size. To promote and support its grand opening, Kroger has invited the Jazz Band to play as entertainment. Their performance will start at 9 AM. Kroger will also be making a generous $5,000 donation to RHS.

“Kroger contacted us. They wanted representatives from the school district to be there and present us with a check for $5,000 on their pre-opening day on January 16,” building principal Pete Hedemark said.

Half of the $5,000 is going to the band to aid funds.

“I intend to buy an electric piano for intonation purposes and we need a new set of vibes because ours are falling apart. It will all go in the same pot as performance funds, transportation, and many more necessities,” band director Daniel Chesher said.

Come on out to support the new Kroger and RHS band performance on opening day.
