The Jazz Band took the stage at Aretha’s Jazz Café on Feb. 13, delivering a great performance that showcased both musical skill and confidence in one of Detroit’s most iconic music venues that Aretha Franklin has performed in herself! This event was orchestrated by Scott Gwinnell, a famous jazz artist that has been performing since the age of 16. The students had a great time performing on Tuesday. Months of time and practice had went in to this event and the students and band director Daniel Chesher is very proud of their performance. “The RHS Jazz Band joined the legacy of great musicians that have performed on stage at Aretha’s Jazz Cafe last night, and I couldn’t be more proud of them,” Chesher said.
