Say “Hello” to John Rocco, the new parapro here at RHS. Rocco is a retired police officer who is highly trained in many areas of police work and has extensive experience in the field of criminal justice. He previously worked in the youth bureau, was a detective for 12 years, and acted as a member of the SWAT team for 20 years.

For those of you that do not know, a parapro is a parent professional that assists the school administration. Parapros help monitor the hallways and make sure students are safe and make their way to class so that our school can continuously improve its productivity. Rocco will be working closely with Officer Gusweiler. (Fun Fact: Gusweiler and Rocco are good friends, they graduated from Roseville High School together in 1980)

Rocco has been described as an incredibly loyal and honest person by friends and family.

“John Rocco is the kind of guy who would feel guilty if he accidentally took a pen home from work,” Fred Barbret said.

In his free time, Rocco is a huge lions fan who likes to keep his lawn in pristine condition.

Our new Parapro really cares about students and their futures and he will surely become another positive face at our school.

“I am here because I want all kids to be safe and have a healthy working environment,” Rocco said.

If you see Mr. Rocco in the hallways, be sure to give him a warm welcome.
