  The Lady Panthers played a hard fought game last night against Grosse Pointe North. They entered as the underdogs to a team that is four divisions higher. Regardless of the huge division gap, the Panthers did not go down without a fight. Throughout the first half, the team consistently scored from behind the arc and disrupted opposing players.   Who will be the next wrestling state placer for Roseville High School?  This year, head coach Justin Petrone has coached 215 pound junior Marcus Fresch and 171 pound senior Josh Butler to their respective first times to the wrestling state tournament hosted at the Palace of Auburn Hills throughout the next few days. Before the post season, Fresch had a record of 28 wins and seven losses. On Monday the varsity girl’s basketball team kept their season alive by defeating Warren Woods Tower 56-31. They scored immediately after tip-off and never looked back. The girls played their best ball when the pressure seemed at its highest. Entering the fourth quarter, in the biggest game of their season thus far, the girls led 33-20. The girls elevated their play in the final quarter and looked in sync. Excellent defense led to multiple fast break attempts, which resulted in easy points. The rest was history. On Saturday, Feb. 18, the varsity girls basketball team played St. Clair in a MAC Silver/Bronze tournament championship at Dakota High School. This year’s team is lead by seniors Rayven Newberry, Chantae’ Parker, Nija Collier, and Ta’Laja Edwards. At the beginning of the game, the Panthers got off to a slow start. On Thursday, your varsity lady panthers earned the MAC silver championship against Madison Heights Eagles winning 54-45. The team is going 8-1 in their division, but 10-5 overall. The only loss the ladies have had in their division was against St. Clair, but soon prowled past them 51-28 later on in the year.   Senior, Rayven Newberry, has rightfully earned her spot as the starting shooting guard on the girls’ varsity basketball team. She returns to varsity as one of the most selfless players on the team. When she has the ball in her hands she always looks to find a teammate for an assist, and even when she is on the bench she can be heard supporting her team and rooting them on. On Thursday, Jan. 19, our Roseville Panthers played the Warren Woods Tower Titans. With JV starting out the night, they were in the lead 16-14 by halftime. Phenomenal efforts were turned in by freshman Mycah McClellan-Goodwin, who scored 11 points, sophomores Lauren Orler scoring nine points, and Taniya Shaw Richards scoring six points. By the end of the game, the Panthers won the game, 37-25. Next up, the varsity Panthers took the court after junior Samantha Averitt sang the national anthem. RHS groups help families in need for holiday season

During the holiday season, teachers and students all around RHS come together to help provide for 15 families in need. Each and every year there is an annual tradition that RHS hosts called Adopt-A-Family. Adopt-A-Family is an event where a group or teacher adopts a family to help provide for them at this time of year. These groups provide goods such as toys, clothing, gift cards to places like Target or Meijer so they can get their basic necessities, or anything else that a child may want for Christmas.
